I vividly remember the day my parents dropped me off at college for the first time. College is tough for everyone. Though it may feel like it’s overstated, no one is ever truly alone.
Learning is not a one-size-fits-all experience. With a combination of all the different styles of the VARK model (visual, aural, read/write, kinesthetic), we can begin to give a name to how we best retain information.
[School was] around the time when I first heard of the model minority myth. I saw mainstream media positively raving about the academic and professional success of Asian Americans.
I have learned that it is okay to struggle and take time for myself. Once you understand yourself and what makes you happy, you need to listen to that. You are important and need to prioritize yourself because you deserve the world.
